Sandal Upgrade!

Hello all! So I on planned making a shirt and shorts out of this adorable Lilly Pulitzer looking fabric, yet I got this awesome idea! I decided to cover these old sandals I have from Target with fabric scraps and the end result was perfect! It took me about 30 minutes to mod podge on the fabric to the straps and then about an hour to dry for each (I let them sit overnight though). I decided that I would do a step-by-step tutorial to help y’all maybe make some of your own!

Step 1: Choose the shoes! Pick some without a strap that can be easily slid on. This will make it okay for the fabric to be stiff.

Step 2: Choose what fabric scraps you want to use! Pick a cute old fabric you have lying around or get a 1/4 yard portion from a fabric store.

Step 3: Cut the fabric strips down to fit more accurately to the straps!

Step 4: Grab some glossy mod podge and a paint brush and cover the straps with the fabric! Glue the fabric on with it and then put a layer on top of mod podge and once it is a bit dryer, add a second layer.

Step 5: Ta da! There you have it! Let them dry for at least an hour (I left them overnight) and then you are free to wear them! I wore mine to class today.
