#MeMade Gingham Dress

Hello everyone! My post today is about this adorable #MeMade gingham dress! I always get random urges to make things and this weekend it was this dress. I used McCall’s pattern #M7533 and chose version “C” for this one!

I loved just the basic shift dress style of it and thought it would be the perfect little dress I could always whip out in a rush! This me make took a little longer than normal and that is because I usually avoid sewing things with zippers.

I’m never able to get the zipper 100% perfect and then I’m always upset with my work. More often than not when I’m frustrated with a garment I’ll set it aside, half finished, and never pick it back up/forget about it. This has been a common theme for a while!

I realized this isn’t a good habit. Getting discouraged and not finishing things because they were “too hard” or because I got frustrated with something I wasn’t used to is not good in any situation. With this dress, I didn’t do that! I was frustrated on Friday because the zipper was being difficult but I persisted, picked it back up Saturday, basted my sleeves, sewed my sleeves on, then went back and finished the zipper. It’s not perfect, but I didn’t let it get the best of me and I now have an adorable spring/summer dress!

“Nevertheless, she persisted”

Here’s how I styled it:

Products: Dress (similar), Earrings (similar), Purse, Shoes.

I hope y’all enjoyed this post! I really really love this #MeMake and normally I’m always a little disappointed, so this is big!
