Who says your breakfast has to be boring once you’re no longer a kid? Frankly, I want to have fun and sweet breakfasts for the rest of my life! I bought this dinosaur waffle iron from Urban Outfitters and I was SO EXCITED to shoot this super cute content. This post will share my recipe for Dinosaur Waffles With Sprinkles – A Fun Breakfast Idea!
Whether you want a fun new recipe for your kids, or if you’re an adult who is craving nostalgia (ME), then this post is for you! Waffles were my favorite breakfast food as a kid and I feel like waffles with sprinkles and whipped cream is the more elevated version of that. Yes, I said an elevated version of waffles!

Making Mini Dinosaur Waffles
A few weeks ago I was soo excited to get my dinosaur waffle iron in the mail! I ordered it from Urban Outfitters, but I ended up finding one cheaper from Walmart that you can shop (here). I am the biggest fan of dinosaurs and watch the first Jurassic Park movie at least once a month. It’s seriously so great and the iconic line from Ellie Sattler, “dinosaurs eat man, and woman inherits the earth,” makes my entire life!
When I first used my waffle maker, I messed up and just threw a bunch of batter into it. It ended up overflowing and I got batter ALL OVER THE WAFFLE IRON AND MY KITCHEN. My biggest tip is to just fill in each little dinosaur section with a small spoon. Also: don’t forget to grease the waffle maker in between each batch of waffles! These two tips will bring you massive success.
Styling Your Table
This section is going to tell you how to serve waffles for breakfast in a chic and affordable way! I literally got these white plates from Walmart and they came in an entire kitchen set for only $9 (shop them here). While they are chic, they look so sophisticated! Throw all your mini dino waffles on this plate and place them in the center of your kitchen table for everyone to enjoy.
For my featured image, I dropped a few sprinkles on the table for a cute effect and then placed some sprinkle tubes down to enhance the image! I found this dish towel in my kitchen that happened to perfectly match my sprinkles and placed that underneath my plate of waffles. To finish off the look, I added my little silver measuring spoons that I purchased from Hobby Lobby a few years ago!
Decorating Your Waffles
When it came to decorating my waffles, I used some colored sprinkles in bulk and shark sprinkles! Both of which I grabbed from Walmart. I knew I wanted to go with a pastel color theme, and it just so happened that ALL of these sprinkles matched that theme and worked with each other too! I really adored the little shark sprinkles too because my sister and I have watched Shark Week religiously for about 10 years now.
If you’ve been wondering what to eat with waffles for breakfast, then here is the section for you! I am a massive lover of whipped cream. I love how it adds a little sour sweetness to a meal. I also drown my waffles in syrup, so pairing them with a little butter and some whipped cream makes the perfect combination! Then, once you’ve added all of that, toss on some sprinkles.
