Fleur Delacour Beauxbatons Costume

Hi everyone! Today on the blog I am literally so excited to share my Fleur Delacour Beauxbatons Costume for the upcoming holiday! I know it’s a bit late, but I love how it turned out so much. I have been wanting to style this costume for at LEAST 3 years now, and my dreams have finally come true! For all my Harry Potter stans, this post is for you!

I would like to thank Chicwish for gifting me the top and skirt, because that is what really tied this look together! They look so similar to the top and bottom from fleur delacour’s outfit in the movie, and I am so happy that I was able to style them with the authentic beauxbatons hat! Keep reading to find out why this costume made me excited, where to shop for the outfits, and how I made my bootleg wand.

Shop The Look

Fleur Delacour Harry Potter Costume

Now, I’ve seen many Fleur Delacour Inspired Outfits, but I wanted this one to look like it was #StraightOuttaHogwarts! I found this perfect stone wall at an apartment complex near me and knew this is where I wanted to shoot this look! The vine makes it looks old and the stone looks as if it could be a part of the castle!

The reason I chose a fleur delacour costume and not an overtly popular character (like Hermione who I did dress up as when I was around 9 years old), was because I think if I were in the Harry Potter universe, I’d be a Beauxbatons girl! I’ve always loved the French language and culture, and their uniforms are just STUNNING! That said, I’m a die hard Ravenclaw and honestly might make that one of my costumes for next year.

“What do I care how ‘e looks? I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk! All these scars show is zat my husband is brave!”

– Fleur Delacour

How To Make a DIY Wand

I also wanted to share how I made this wand! I mentioned above how I basically bootlegged it, and I have never lied before so why start now! I have a legitimate wand from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but since I don’t have a house (and 0 storage in my apartment), I don’t know if it’s buried somewhere in my closet, or still at my childhood home. Either way, I needed a wand ASAP and so I decided to make one!

If you know anything about me, I LOVE plants (read my post about taking care of them + tips on purchasing them here)! Sadly sometimes plants don’t love me back. My Fiddle Leaf Fig (RIP) decided to just drop all of its leaves about a month ago and hadn’t started to regrow any. I took the plunge and literally just cut the sad little stick out of its pot and went from there!

My next step was finding my glue gun and glue sticks to go to work. Personally I’ve seen the Harry Potter movies enough that I was able to know how I wished to create this one! I added more hot glue to the bottom than the top, and once it started to get a little less hot, I started forming/shaping it! I then started painting it with some acrylics I had in my craft bin. I planned to shoot that next morning, so I let it dry overnight and then grabbed it on my way out the next day!

“But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

– Albus Dumbledore

Shop for a Fleur Delacour Halloween Costume

If you want to get your own Fleur Delacour costume, then look no further! I was lucky enough to have been sent the top and skirt, but honestly I would’ve bought them regardless. Both are from Chicwish and you can shop the top (here) and the skirt (here)! I really love the little button pocket detail on the skirt and the tie neck on the blouse! It also has a ruffle flounce on top of the tank top so it’s a breathable look as well.

When it came to my accessories, I bought this Beauxbatons hat from Amazon! It’s actually really affordable and under $25 so that was a bonus. You can shop it from Amazon (here) or if you want to save $0.99, shop it from Walmart (here). I also loved adding these shoes to my look, and although these are sold out, I was able to find some affordable (and cute) alternates (here).

“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”

-Sirius Black

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I had so much fun styling this outfit and I ADORE how it turned out! The Harry Potter franchise is one that I have loved since I was just 8 years old so child me would’ve been freaking out at this. If you’re also a fan, be sure to shop this costume above! I say it’s worth the investment because, frankly, you can wear this shirt to work

I rarely have cash and when I do it’s like $20 bills. I will actually just hand a $20 to someone asking for help and not bat an eyelash. ⁣Its honestly why I can’t live in NYC.
