Hello everyone! Today on the blog I wanted to share a post I’ve thought about creating for almost two years at this point. I always get mad at myself for not creating more content regarding the places I’ve lived, so here is the FIRST of many Atlanta related posts to come! I’m sharing The 20 Most Instagrammable Places in Atlanta and you’ll get everything from restaurants to murals.
There are so may instagram spots in Atlanta, but these are the ones I personally love, as well as some recommended by others! Whether you’re visiting the city on a trip, or trying to plan photoshoots with your friends, these places will help you up your social media game. They’re also just really fun places to have photoshoots with your family members!
1. Balloon Mural
Address: 985 Monroe Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
This mural was probably stunning in its glory days, but sadly most of the wall is now covered in graffiti. That said, I was still able to get some gorgeous shots here and still recommend checking it out if you’re walking along The Beltline! There was another mural on the opposite wall that was gorgeous as well.
2. YikYak Mural
Address: 700 Lake Ave, NE Atlanta, GA 30307
Does anyone else remember how big YikYak was from 2015-2016? When I was in college I swear I was on it more than any other app. I was also massively obsessed with the Yak that was their mascot! This mural is also located near Krog Street Market on the side of one of the buildings. I love how colorful and bright it is! If you’re already heading down to Krog Street for other murals, be sure to catch this one too.
3. The “Atlanta” Mural – Atlanta Humane Society
Address: 981 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
This mural was one I was so happy to shoot with! I’ve lived in Atlanta for a little over a year and a half now and have loved every second. It’s the city feel I wanted from New York with the ability to escape to the suburbs! It also allowed me to bring awareness to the Atlanta Humane Society because they have so many lovely animals. If you’re looking to adopt (click here)!
4. Disco Ball Mural
Address: 3330 Piedmont Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30305
So the address I found online for this one was a little off. My photographer is a genius and she was like “it’s probably on the side with the art shop!” She was 100% correct and that’s where this MASSIVE mural lives! It’s so close to the Trader Joe’s I go to every Sunday and had no idea a gem like this was so close to me. If you’re looking for cool areas in Atlanta, then this is one to check out! The mural itself is HUGE.
5. Piedmont Park
Address: 400 Park Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30306
Okay I’m not going to lie, this was my first time checking out Piedmont Park! I’d only ever been to Centennial Olympic Park before because it’s in the heart of downtown across from the Ferris Wheel. Piedmont is a lovely park with so much space to exercise and relax! I knew I wanted to set up a picnic for this location, and it turned out to look so perfect!
6. Tribal Mural – Summerhill
Address: 39 Georgia Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
This tribal mural is also located in Summerhill! It’s one block from the Little Tart Bake Shop mural and I knew I needed to grab some shots here as well. I love the vibrant colors as well as the unique designs this wall provides! There’s also some other colorful walls near this one, so if that’s what you’re looking for, be sure to stop here.
7. SkyView Ferris Wheel
Address: 168 Luckie St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303
The SkyView Ferries Wheel is one of my favorite photoshoot locations Atlanta! It’s a landmark for the city and you can create such stunning photos with it included. It’s tucked away in a corner of Piedmont Park, and lets you see the best part of the city. To actually go up in the ferris wheel costs money, but so take photos in front of it is completely free!
8. Jackson Street Bridge
Address: Jackson St NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
Jackson Street Bridge is the iconic photo location that you’ve likely seen in other photo roundups! The first time we tried to shoot here it was COMPLETELY covered in fog, definitely try to go on an overcast day or a sunny day near golden hour (the hour before the sun sets) like we did in the photo below!
9. Blue Geometric Wall
Address: 969 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
This Blue Geometric Wall reminds me 100% of Disney! While interning there in 2019, I was able to take photos in front of the most gorgeous paintings all over the parks. This one is right in-between two restaurants and actually has a white bench in front of it! It’s a really cute stop to make if you’re already traipsing around the city.
10. Ponce City Market
Address: 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Ponce City Market is one of my favorite places in the city! Pre-COVID it was honestly the place to be on the weekends. They have unique shops, upscale stores, and restaurants from around the globe! It also has a GORGEOUS sign and fun rooftop area with games, events, and food. The best part about Ponce is the fact that you can access The Beltline here! This gives you access to so many other fun Atlanta spots.
11. Blue Flower Murals – Beltline
Address: 716 Ponce De Leon Pl NE, Atlanta, GA
The address to this place online is accurate, but it’s easier to access if you park at Ponce City Market first! We parked in the deck on the 3rd floor and there’s a door with direct access to The Beltline! Once you’re on The Beltline, hang your first left, walk about 600 feet, and then you’ll see this gorgeous mural! I loved shooting here because this floral dress worked so well with the mural.
12. Rainbow Crosswalk
Address: 1000 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
This rainbow crosswalk hasn’t been around too long, but I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! After the most recent election, everyone went there to celebrate and it was such a lovely time. It also connects to THE BEST brunch place in Atlanta, The Flying Biscuit! I search for places that sell shrimp and grits and to this day they have the best I’ve found in the city. Their biscuits have also won a TON of awards so it’s a win-win!
13. High Museum of Art
Address: 1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
The High Museum is really weird about taking photos inside (for obvious reasons), but the outside is JUST as magnificent. The overlapping portions of the building create a really dimensional background and allows it to be really bright! Standing under the main archway is how I was able to achieve this photo. I also created a post with photos from this location about How to Take Photos With Flowers!
Read my post about How to Pose With Flowers (here)!
14. Flower Mural – Little Tart Bake Shop
Address: 68 Georgia Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
I was trying to find some additional murals for this post (and another one that’s in the works) and forgot about Summerhill! It’s the cutest little up and coming area and I was so excited to find this mural. Little Tart Bake Shop is one of my photographer’s favs so we also stopped to get some matcha lattes after we shot. Coffee + Murals = The Best Morning!
15. Elizabeth Street Mural
Address: 290 Elizabeth St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
Okay so this was originally supposed to be about Bread & Butter which is a super chic restaurant, but we got there 10 minutes after opening and it was POPPING!!! My photographer and I always try to be as safe as possible, so we decided against going in. Luckily there’s a super cute mural right on the corner near it! If you want to shoot with this mural and then get brunch, it’s the best spot!
16. St. Cecelia
Address: 3455 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326
Another one of the most instagrammable restaurants in Atlanta is St.Cecelia! When I realized this restaurant is only about 5 minutes from my apartment I was so excited. I love restaurants with ambiance and great food! If you’re looking for both, then this is the place to go. It’s situated between Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza, which means you can shop then eat, or eat then shop!
17. Krog Street Market
Address: 99 Krog St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
I’ve shot at Krog Street before, but this time I wanted to share one my favorite new murals! It’s a picture of Obama awarding John Lewis the medal of freedom. This is a relatively new mural and knew I wanted to add it to this list. He was a civil rights activist who then became a U.S. House rep for Georgia’s 5th congressional district! He’s really important to history, and especially important to Georgia history.
18. The Fox Theatre
Address: 660 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
I was sooo excited when I saw these shots! One of THE most instagrammable places in Atlanta is The Fox Theatre. It’s a landmark and also the perfect spot for photos! The sign is reminiscent of the 1920’s when the theatre opened, and I love the vintage aesthetic the outside has. If you want a unique location to take photos at while on your trip to Atlanta, then I recommend stopping here!
19. “Hey Brown Girl” Mural
Address: 333 Peters St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30313
I found this mural last minute, but couldn’t be happier that I did! The colors of this mural are beautiful, but the message is ever better. As a Brown woman myself, it felt nice to see a mural representing appreciation for a more marginalized group in America.
20. The Candler Hotel
Address: 127 Peachtree St NE Atlanta, GA 30303
The last location on my list of instagram worthy places in Atlanta is the stunning Candler Hotel! It’s gorgeous and has the most perfect vintage facade! It was originally built in 1906 by Coca-Cola, and was the first steel skyscraper of the city. The outside of this building is gorgeous, but honestly pales in comparison to the interior! If you have extra time, be sure to check out the inside of the hotel as well.
Check out the cute content I created with these shots (here)!
Most Efficient Travel Order
I used a free trial of the Route4Route app and it allowed me to optimize my route for these locations! I broke up shooting into two days because it took roughly 3 hours to shoot 10 different locations (which is actually pretty efficient). I doubt many of you are going to try and hit up ALL these places, but in case you’re crazy like I am, be sure to check out my list below:
Sidenote: I started the path at Jackson Street Bridge because the EARLIER you shoot, the less cars will be in your photos! It’s a pretty busy location so this is something to remember.

I wanted to add that my photographer Hannah Lozano-Agnone was AMAZING and traveled around with me for hours to get these shots!
