Hey y’all! If you follow along on my Instagram, you know that I did an Old Navy Haul today! I’ve noticed it’s just easier to link things in an actual blog post, so that’s what I decided to start doing!
Old Navy is a place I hadn’t really shopped until this past summer living in New York City.
The main reason was because it was the only affordable shopping within a mile (walking AND subway distance)! I’m so happy I did discover it though because it has affordable clothing and cute spring outfits!
Consider this post your 2019 spring fashion trend forecast! I’m going to show you everything from work tops to chic dresses great to wear to spring weddings. It’ll also show a few great winter to spring transition outfits too. For sizing reference, my breakdown is below (Everything fit TTS):
My Measurements:
Height – 5’6″ // Bust – 36in // Waist – 27in // Hips – 37in
Sizes I tried On:
Tops – Small // Pants – Size 4 // Dresses – Small // Skirt – 2 // Jumpsuit – Small
Striped Ruffle Sleeve Top + Busted Knee Jeans
This was hands down my favorite look! The way I styled it turned out better than I thought. I honestly probably love it so much because I have worn a variation of this looks at least sixteen times. Since the weather is either extremely cold right now (everywhere up north) or starting to get way too warm (here in Florida), I want to show looks that are great transitional outfits!
All that really means is that I want to show you pieces and styles that can work for either hot or cold weather. The one above checks some of these boxes! For people in cooler climates, choose this cute little outfit and just throw on a trench coat over it! That way you’ll stay warm but still have a chic look. Once it starts getting warmer, style this outfit with some sandals or espadrilles!
One of my personal favorite closet staples is a nice pair of ripped jeans. I’m not a huge fan of the ripped jeans that look like you got caught on a fence that tore them all the way down though. Give me a subtle and classic ripped knee like these! I think it elevates them a little bit more. These are a rockstar style and I love these kind of jeans from Old Navy. They are so flattering and work with curves!
Tan Duster Cardigan + Polka Dot Tank + Denim Skirt
This next spring outfit is one that I really liked because I felt like it was 1) good for the work place and 2) versatile! I purchased a skirt like this from H&M just last weekend and I know I’ll be able to wear this so much in the springtime! Denim skirts are one style that I think will be a top spring 2019 trend and I hopped on board early. The pockets on this one are my absolute favorite!
For the rest of my look, I really thought just adding this cute yellow polka dot tank would be great. I lived in Georgia until I moved to Florida in January and it is honestly just as hot most of the time. Wearing tank tops to work is very purposeful because when I get off and my car is around 17,479 degrees I can take off whatever I have over top! In this case I chose to add a duster cardigan.
Black and White Grid Print Blouse + Busted Knee Jeans
This grid print blouse is a current favorite of mine! It is linen and a tad bit see through. That being said, I think it’s so perfect for the spring and so comfortable! The small details in this blouse are what 100% set it apart. I think the keyhole neck is sophisticated and the puff sleeves are playful! It’s great for work if you a wear a cami underneath and great for fun regardless!
When styling this look, I suggest using a classic denim jean like the ones I’m wearing above! They’re a great way to dress it down a bit and you can throw on a blazer to make it business casual. The best part about this blouse is that it can work with almost any outfit though. Pair it with dress pants or a maxi skirt and it’l still look chic! The same goes for the shoes you can wear with this top. Any will work!
Floral V-Neck Dress + Glitter Block Heels
This dress is SO CUTE YALL. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it because I generally hate dresses without sleeves. It’s an issue I’ve had with my arms/armpits for years ad I don’t know if it’ll go away. That all said, this dress is so stinkin’ adorable! I also don’t hate my arms in it which is crazy. The spaghetti straps and v-neck are extremely flattering on any body type.
I also think the length of this dress is GREAT for a spring wedding or for a nice brunch with friends! The little ruffled panel at the bottom gives it that extra feminine touch that I just love. For shoes you can honestly wear almost any style (no boots, I beg of you). I actually found these cute glitter block heels at Old Navy in December and they work perfectly!
Pink and White Striped Top + White Denim Jeans
When it comes to this next outfit, this is great right now for people in Florida! I am here right now and y’all know it’s been hot already. Yes, it’s February and 85 degrees and I’m dying. It does mean that I can wear cute little looks like this already though! I think this pink and white striped blouse is the perfect top for shopping on the weekends or going out for lunch!
When it comes to styling this top, I thought white jeans would look absolutely perfect with it. I was right! Since there is white in the top, these jeans just elevate this casual look one more step. I think it would look so adorable too if you added a cute pair of espadrille wedges. Block heels would also go well with this spring outfit too! For other accessories, I’m thinking a cute little tote bag.
Striped Button Up Linen Dress
This style dress is so different to me! I haven’t seen anything similar to it recently and I thought it was really unique. It is a linen dress too, but it comes with a slip built into it which I thought was a great styling feature. The stripes are a great color palette as well! I love when pink and blue are mixed together and the green adds that extra spring pop which is great.
The other thing I like about this dress is that it almost has a little cap sleeve instead of a full short sleeve. That little detail makes it so feminine and cute! To style this, you could honestly wear a little cardigan over it and you’d be set for work. For shoes, I think a great option would be to pair it with espadrilles or block heels as well! This dress can be dressed down easily and you can honestly just throw on a pair of sandals.
Purple Ruffle Top + White Denim Jeans
Guys I am sooo in love with this top! I knew I needed to get this because it was me in a blouse. I love that lilac/purple have been a big trend lately and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. Especially for the springtime! This is a very subtle shade of purple and I think the style of it elevates the top from just a basic button up shirt. The part that I personally think is great is, of course, the ruffle on the shoulder!
One small note that I want to make about this shirt is that it hit my wrist PERFECTLY. I sometimes have an issue of shirts being too long or short in the arms and I didn’t with this one. I also paired this top with white jeans and thought they complimented each other well. Sometimes white jeans are hit or miss and these ran a little bit too small for me. Like muffin top for days. Definitely size up!
Striped Button Front Dress
This striped dress is a MUST. It’s seriously so cute and comfy and perfect. I saw this and knew it was coming home with me if we’re being honest. It’s super flattering because it cinches in at the waist and the tiered look makes it work appropriate and great to just wear around on errands! I think that the three quarter sleeve style and button front also give it some cute details.
I actually styled this lovely dress already and you’ll see it featured this next week! I found some gorgeous espadrilles from Nordstrom Rack that are Sole Society and I knew those are what I would wear with this. I also think it would be cute with some little open toes booties or sandals! I decided to also wear some cute pink sunnies with it as well. They were ONLY $3 from Target y’all!! Check the dollar spot always.
Striped Ruffle Sleeve Dress
Okay yes I have two striped dresses in a row, but honestly who is surprised? I LOVED this dress from my haul yesterday. It’s a knit so it’s really comfortable and still looks sophisticated! You can easily dress this up with a pair of chic heels or dress it down with some cute tennis shoes. You know I also died when I saw these sleeves. They almost look like the sleeves in my first look!
I think this dress could also be a lovely brunch look, but it’s also perfect for a Sunday at church as well! I wanted to also link some shoes that would be cute with this so you can see the versatility. This dress also comes in a polka dot print which I hadn’t previously seen. It is 100% now on my list to buy over this one. Yes, I have a polka dot problem, but it’s okay because they’re all so cute!!
Green Linen Jumpsuit with Tortoiseshell Buttons
This last item was EASILY the most loved look from my try-on haul. I got so many comments on it that I almost went back and bought it yesterday! I’m waiting for it to go a little bit more on sale though before I commit. That being said it is SO CHIC and looks amazing with the tortoiseshell buttons that are on the front! This honestly reminded me of something from Urban Outfitters and that made me love it even more.
You can see in this shot that the shoes I wore shopping were my glitter block heels. They’re great! They honestly look perfect with everything. Sometimes with jumpsuits I’m not sure what shoes to wear. I think block heels or just a classic flat would look cute with this one! It also comes in a nice chambray/denim style as well and I’m currently debating which one I like best.
I had someone ask me to disclose what I actually ended up getting from this haul! I actually purchased the striped dress and the purple ruffle top! They fit me the best and were so cute not to add to my closet. I do plan on getting the green jumpsuit pictured above because y’all it is gorgeous and fits me perfectly!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and are able to find some new pieces for your closet for the spring! I think these will be great once it starts getting warmer (which is already is here).
