The Perfect Holiday Look for This Season

Hello lovely readers! Today on Sequins and Sales I’m sharing The Perfect Holiday Look for This Season. I have had this look in mind for a few months now! I love everything mustard yellow and anything with a texture. In this outfit, I have both. If you’re starting to look for holiday outfit ideas, this post is for you! Everything I’ve linked is under $60, and the skirt is a knockout at just $28.

I personally feel as if outfits for the holidays should be bright, stunning, and festive! I was actually able to achieve this in the background of my photos too. We shot this in front of this gorgeous building in downtown Atlanta and I ADORE how they turned out! Cut out of the photos is a very flamboyant merman that I’m slightly sad you can’t see. Ready for cute holiday outfit ideas? Keep reading!

Mustard Yellow Pleated Skirt

My favorite part of this entire look is the mustard yellow pleated midi skirt I picked up from Target! I have around five pleated skirts in my closet at this point, but I’m not even mad about it! I feel like they can work with so many different types of tops/sweaters and can work from season to season. This one came out for the fall, but mustard yellow is a color than can work any time of year!

This skirt has a thin waistband which is one reason I decided not to tuck in my sweater. It would just add some unnecessary bulk to this area! That said, if it’s warm during your holiday gathering like it often is in Georgia, feel free to tuck in a graphic tee. This will give you the perfect put together look for any event you’re having (whether remote and on Zoom, or with a small amount of family members)!

Mustard Yellow Chenille Sweater

We’re now moving on to my favorite sweater of all time! this mustard chenille sweater from LOFT. I found this gorgeous piece a few years ago when I worked as a sales associate! It’s remained in my closet since and I always whip it out around this time of year. I prefer an almost cropped style for the wintertime because generally everything I’m wearing is high waisted!

A few of my Instagram followers have asked about how to style an oversized/thick sweater with a skirt, and this is my #1 tip! I use one of these little Teleties (linked here) and make a sort of “bun” with my sweater. It cinches your waist and give you a shape in an otherwise boxy top! It also keeps from adding a tucked in bulk at your midsection (which no one wants to happen).

Glitter Block Heels

These silver glitter block heels from Old Navy are my FAVORITE shoes I’ve ever owned. I also only spent about $17 on them too! They were a holiday item about three years ago, and ever since I’ve worn them to holiday parties, interviews, to the grocery store, and so many other places. They are the final touch to any outfit and add a festive touch that everyone will love!

Old Navy actually has a pair of flats that look exactly like these that are only $10! You can grab them (here). Perfect for anyone who isn’t into, or who can’t wear, a heel of any size! I also was able to find a similar pair from ASOS that I have thought about purchasing in addition to these beauties. I decided that would be a bit too excessive though (as I also have a pair of glitter booties too LOL).

Madewell Transport Tote

I loved adding this Madewell leather tote bag to my look! Madewell honestly has some of the most sturdy, chic tote bags in the market. The brass details on the handle are an added touch of this tote that make it feel a bit more elevated than a normal brown tote bag. I feel like the best part about this tote is the fact that you can use a longer strap, as well as the shorter handles too!

I also included this tote in my post about How to Find a Purse That Goes with Everything that you can read (here)! This post rounds up 40+ bags that are perfect for all outfits and all seasons. If that’s something you’re interested in, be sure to head over and read more! If not, you can shop my actual tote (here) for over 50% off the retail price. It NEVER goes on sale.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I am OBSESSED with this outfit and feel as if it’s The Perfect Holiday Look for This Season. If you decide to style this look, or a similar one, be sure to tag me on Instagram with @sequinsandsales!
