Style Tip: How to Transition Work Wear Into Spring
It’s finally spring in most places! Here in Florida it’s already 90 degrees (we don’t get a spring here), but I’m READY to share spring work wear with all of you! I love transitioning clothes from season to season and this is no exception.
I decided to round up six chic looks that are perfect for the springtime and for the office. As a working woman, I’m always looking for closet staples that will work no matter what. Whether it’s fall or winter, and whether I’m at work or on vacation!
This is a way to be frugal (NOT cheap) and also help keep old clothing from going to the dump! Saving the environment and making cute outfits? It can’t get better than that to be honest. Read on to see how I style these looks and to shop my finds!
1. Striped Blazer + Pink Pleated Skirt
This first work wear look for spring is one of my favorites! You guys LOVED it over on Instagram when I wore it to Macy’s for their STORY collection. I’m not surprised though because it’s GREAT for the springtime and for work!
This striped linen blazer from Target is very lightweight and works with so many styles. I usually am not a fan of linen; however, this one doesn’t wrinkle that badly! It’s also fitted which makes it more flattering to wear.
This pink pleated skirt is one that I found at Goodwill (originally from Banana Republic) for $3! I couldn’t believe it. It’s honestly my best find to date! You all love it when I post it on my feed. It also pairs perfectly with this “Girls Unite” tee that I adore.
We can’t forget about the accessories! These little espadrilles are a spring favorite and were 100% worth the investment. I wore these babies all around Epcot and they were so comfy! The same goes with this saddle bag. It’s chic, yet great for busy days at work.
2. Black Blazer + Pink Dress Pants
I love me a classic black blazer and this one from H&M is no exception! I needed one for interviews last semester and I was not happy having to pay full-price for something. That being said, it’s SO FLATTERING and I wear it at least once a week to work.
My pants are also another favorite of mine for the spring because they are PINK. If you know me you know I love pink. The fact that I found work pants in this color that are also flattering made my entire day! They’re also super affordable.
I wanted to dress this look down a little bit (you know, business casual) and so I paired it with this adorable Uniqlo tee! It’s a woman with a fro on the go and it couldn’t represent me better if it tried. Pairing a dressy look with a tee make the look just a little more casual, but still gives a sophisticated ensemble!
The accessories for this look are my FAVORITE part. These velvet glitter block heels from Nordstrom Rack are actually Marc Fisher’s! He is one of my favorite shoe makers and these I never want to take off. My little bag is from Forever 21 and it just makes me think of Easter!
3. Black Blazer + Sky Blue Culottes
This look is one that I chose because I had requests for how to make Disney clothes look professional! this Mickey tee is one I found at Uniqlo as well. The one at Disney Springs has ALL the cutest Mickey Mouse designs and you can also find them online too!
Featured again is my classic black blazer so you can now see how much I love it and how versatile it is! I did pair it with another tee (oops), but this time the tee is tucked in and the pants are high-waisted with a tie!
These culottes are FANTASTIC and I think the color is great. they even have a tie waist which is something I love because they 1) make a garment more flattering and 2) help me out with my small waist thick thighs dilemma. these cuties are from ASOS and are in my ASOS Spring Style Guide!
When it comes to accessories, they include these classic beige block heels and my coffee from Panera. Yes, coffee can be an accessory and I HAVE NO SHAME. These beige block heels from Taregt are my GO-TO work shoe! They’re comfortable and under $25 so if you end up outside (and get them muddy), it’s not insanely expensive to replace them!
4. Salmon Tie-Sleeve Blouse + Black Dress Pants
When I had Sapphire Blue Co. reach out to me about gifting me some spring clothes for work, I was so excited! I wanted to show you guys some cute ways to style various garments and this top is no exception. It has tie-sleeves that give it the cutest little touch!
You’ve seen my classic black blazer, well here’s my classic black dress pants! these were also from H&M and I got them as a set with my blazer. I love wearing these because I have never had my hips fit well in dress pants before I found these!
One spring 2019 trend I am really loving is the neck scarf/neckerchief trend! I am obsessed with the 1960’s and 1970’s and feel like this is very reminiscent of this time period. Whether worn in your hair or around your neck, they’re perfect!
For the rest of my accessories, we have my classic black tote again (oops). I seriously love this bag because of the pockets on the outside! I also have on my beige block heels again, but I have no shame. This just proves how comfy and versatile they are!
5. Grid Print Blouse + Pink Belted Dress Pants
The next look is another spring work look for all women! It’s the cutest grid print blouse that has a subtle v-neck (so you won’t be showing too much) and it’s a great length! they great part? It’s a chiffon blouse but NOT SEE-THROUGH. That’s something I always look for because I hate wearing camisoles.
These are actually the same pink pants featured in the second work wear look. I think they’re great with, or without, the belt they come with! In this case I wore them with the belt and tucked in my shirt. I mixed it up with this look when it comes to my shoes! I love a classic heel and these black stilettos are great! The heel isn’t too high (only about 3 inches at most) and they’re shockingly comfortable. We have Target to thank for these too!
My bag is just the same saddle bag I wear in a lot of my photos. I like the style of saddle bags because it’s just different from normal crossbody bags. Plus, equestrian-esque styles look expensive even if the price tag is not.
6. Asymmetrical Leopard Dress + Black Moto Jacket
This last look is honestly one of my spring favorites overall! I am obsessed with this dress that Lulus gifted me and the asymmetrical hem is just so unique compared to some others. It DOES have a spaghetti strap which is why I paired it with a jacket!
This moto jacket was another gift from Sugarlips! It’s a crushed black suede and honestly I have never loved a coat more. this outfit is a little bit more casual, so if you work in a more relaxed office (or with a fashion company), you’ll be fine!
I wanted to wear just a nude pump with this dress because it’s already so bold. I was gifted these beige pumps from Lulus too! They have some great pieces that you can mix into your wardrobe to be more professional.
My black tote bag has appeared again, but I think it just shows how you can work one piece throughout your closet! I can wear this bag with dresses, pants, and skirts and it still looks put together and classic.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I love work wear and think I’ve been able to find some fun and unique ways to change up the standard. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, or don’t even know where to start, I hope this helped you figure out how to transition work wear into spring!
