Hi friends! Today on the blog I wanted to share how to transition your clothing from winter to spring! Georgia is starting to jump up into the 60’s so it’s time for me to start pulling out some lighter options to style! I personally feel like the items I have in this post will be perfect for that transitional time frame so keep reading if you need some more advice!
This post idea was actually a request from when I asked for what you guys wanted from Sequins and Sales in 2021 on my Instagram! I’m going to start delving into that data and create more posts aligned with what you were asking for. This is just the first in a long line of ideas, so be sure to check back weekly for new posts!

A Colorful Statement Sweater
Sweaters are obviously a statement in the wintertime. They are perfect for keeping you warm when it’s freezing out, and also add a lovely texture to any look! I love adding a sweater that has flair to a look regardless of the style. It always ends up adding the extra pop that you want!
For this look, I decided to add a gorgeous teal sweater from Target! I got it on sale for only $13 so not only was it a STEAL, it’s very versatile too. My favorite thing about this look is the fact that it has a blouson sleeve! Adding a unique silhouette to a common garment is the easiest way to elevate an outfit. It’s also a little bit shorter in length which is great for anyone that has a short torso (ME!!) or is petite.
Wide Leg Pants
These winter white wide leg pants from LOFT are actually a massive favorite of mine. I feel like I style them so much that y’all are like “yeah girl we know that already!” They’re just honestly the one pant that works with ANYTHING I want to wear. I feel like this pair in particular bring in the spring vibe perfectly. They’re a subtle off-white and that personally made me READY for the slightly warmer temps!
If you’re looking for a pair of wide leg pants, I would look into a regular medium wash denim, a white/off-white, or a pastel! I have a pastel pink pair that also is perfect for springtime. These are styles you’ll start seeing more and more of in stores as warm weather floor-sets start pouring into retailers. Target already has a majority of their new collection out and there are LOTS or lilacs.
Brown Ankle Booties
These ankle boots were a pair that I got from Amazon as a part of their influencer program! They’re really affordable (as boots go) and they are TOO FREAKING CUTE! I love a lighter cognac for accessories because it can work with black as well as brown! This pair in particular matched the brown in my tote bag so that’s why I ended up going with these. I know it’s sometimes tacky to match your accessories, but I like doing it so that there’s consistency within my look!
When moving your boots into spring, it’s always smart to transition ankle booties or boots that fall right below the knee. I personally feel like once we hit March the over-the-knew boots need to say adios! They’re just a bit too cozy for this time of year (unless you live in a colder climate, then IGNORE ME). This obviously depends on where you live, but it’s a good rule of thumb to follow!
A Unique Tote Bag
Whoever said we have to leave childhood obsessions behind when we become adults was seriously disturbed. I have loved dinosaurs for YEARS now and I love that this ModCloth bag gives me that love in a fashionable way! I love shopping there for niche items that have fun styles. I also purchased a pack of dinosaur earrings from them too that are just so adorable. It was only $15 and you can shop them (here)!
Obviously if you don’t have nerdy fandoms you’re a part of, having a general statement tote works too! If you don’t want to be as adventurous as me, opt for a colorful tote bag! For the springtime I think a pastel pink or lilac is great. You can then just throw on an all neutral look and it’ll pair perfectly! I love wearing an all-white outfit and then throwing on colorful accessories.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I love sharing ways to transition clothing into various seasons because ain’t nobody have the money to constantly buy new things. I’ve had these pants for a couple years now and they’re ALWAYS perfect! I actually have two pairs similar to this because I can’t control myself.

I love how much thought went into this look! It’s very fun and playful. Makes me excited for transitioning my own clothes once our Wisconsin winter warms up!
