Hey everyone! Today I’m so excited to share a post I’ve been meaning to write for months now. It’s something I’ve always casually been able to do that I realized a lot of people are immediately adept at figuring out! The main point of my blog is to help + educate, so here we go. Today I’m sharing How to Tuck Bulky Sweaters Into Skirts!
This was a request I got from some of you guys a few months back, so I’m late, but here to help! It’ll still be cool in most places for a few months, so I don’t think it’s too late at all. In this post, I’ll be be sharing how I tuck my bulky sweaters into my skirts! I’ll also share some of my fav sweaters + skirts of the season for you to shop and try out this trick on your own.

How to Tuck Bulky Sweaters Into Skirts
Okay so the technical term for this is a French tuck (thanks Tan), but I do a sort of variation since sweaters are bulkier than an average tee or dress shirt. I’ve also see people tuck their sweaters into their bras and this actually works too if you were wondering (LOL). I just prefer this method! It’s quick, easy, and give you the look you’re aiming for.
1. Grab the Bulky Edge of Your Sweater
Some sweaters might not be as bulky, but grab the bottom edge anyway! As you can see in my image, there’s a tighter knit at the bottom that’s a bit thinner than the rest of the sweater. That’s the part that you’ll want to hold! It’s the easiest part to flip under, and will allow you to tuck without creating extra bulk.
2. Fold it Under in the Center
You want to make sure you’re only tucking the front, middle section of your sweater. If you tuck the sides too, you’ll end up having wayyy too much bulk and it won’t be flattering! It also makes it easier to layer a coat over it. My sweater basically had an automatic guide, and I tried to just tuck in the middle pattern of the sweater!
3. Tuck it Into Your Skirt
The last part is the easiest part! You then just tuck it into your skirt or pair of pants. I find this look generally works well for skirts, but even better for pants! Jeans are already kind of bulky in that area and they also are made to hold things in (if they’re high waisted). This technique is great for either!
