I am that crazy obsessed person who gets excited for exclusive capsule collections. I was in high school when Lilly Pulitzer for Target dropped and sadly didn’t realize it would sell out immediately. Then, this summer for Hunter for Target, my store didn’t get the collection and they sold out online by 4am.
This year I was finally prepared for a drop! I have been obsessed with Vineyard Vines for years now, but haven’t been able to afford any of their full-price items. Growing up in the south, Vineyard Vines is THE brand to wear (aside from Lilly of course). I knew I had to be ready and I was!
I planned on going to my Target at 6am to wait for it to open at 8am on Saturday. I set my alarm and was ready! Well, since I have anxiety, I was too stressed to sleep and kept waking up to check to see if they had released anything online. This ended up working out in my favor!
I had an inkling that since Target is based out Minnesota, they might release everything at midnight PST. I WAS RIGHT. It was crazy. I ended up waking up and slowly saw items in my favorites pop up with “Add to Cart” and couldn’t believe my luck! I got every single clothing item I wanted from this launch and they’re all below!
Pink Pullover + Patchwork Shorts
This first look is one of my favs mostly because it is PINK! This pullover was the first thing from the collection that I knew I wanted. It is a lovely blush pink and has the classic, navy, Vineyard Vines whale on the right pocket! My favorite part is that inside the collar it has the same patchwork as the shorts.
These little patchwork whale shorts are PERFECTION!! I love that it looks like there are a bunch of random pieces of fabric all sewn together. The colors also mesh so well together too. My favorite part of these shorts is that they fit like a glove!
Shorts generally don’t work on my body because my waist is a lot smaller than my hips. That was not the case for these! They fit my body type well all over and the length was great too. I don’t really like super short and super long shorts, and these were the perfect in-between!
White Ruffle Dress With Striped Belt
This next dress is also the PERFECT spring dress! It’s white which makes anyone look super tan. It’s so bright and great for a day at the lake or a walk through town. My favorite part of this dress is the striped tie belt.
It has Vineyard Vines’ classic blue whale on the tie and loops on the sides to keep the belt looped on. It also has POCKETS YALL! Almost all of the clothing items in the collection had them and that made it so much better.
I wanted to pair this dress with these perfect espadrille sandals! They’re a plain taupe color and work with literally so many various looks. This woven tote bag is also a spring favorite of mine and will work into summer well too.
Gingham Shirtdress With Contrasting Belt
This third look from the Vineyard Vines for Target collection is honestly my favorite look of the collection. This gingham shirtdress is SO FLATTERING. It has contrasting fabric on the placket as well as the belt. It’s a smaller gingham print and I love it so much.
The classic whale logo is on the belt of this look too! The tie at the waist is pointed on the ends which I think gives it a little more flair than if it didn’t. The sleeves can be cuffed or un-cuffed which is a nice touch for the summertime.
My accessories for this look were also a part of the collection and I went into the store for these! A lot of the accessories sold out online almost immediately OR were only available in store. I sadly didn’t get the baseball cap I wanted. That being said, I was able to score this cute little wine tumbler (only $5!!!) and this little clutch (only $10!!!)!
Striped Pullover + Whale Print Shorts
We have another pullover! Okay this is one that I was able to score online before the store opened. I thought that the whale on this pullover was also pink, but sadly I was mistaken! It’s actually a red whale, but still it’s a cute striped pattern and still adorable to wear.
The one thing about this jacket is that these ran pretty small! I ended up realizing this when I went in store to purchase the pink one. I think I’m going to return my striped one because it’s a tad on the smaller size. I wasn’t the only person who thought these ran small though! Other customers had similar reviews.
THESE SHORTS YALL!!! Yes they are navy with pink whales printed on them. Yes I have already worn them around the house multiple times. Yes they are the comfiest shorts to ever exist. At first I was scared they would be too small, but they ended up being the PERFECT size. Plus, with the tie waist, they fit me to a tee!
White Polo + Striped Maxi Skirt
This last look was actually one that they had on a model when the collection released. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about wearing a polo for one large reason. I have really broad shoulders, so sometimes polo’s and more masculine style shirts don’t look right on my body! That wasn’t the case with this one at all though.
It’s super comfortable and has the little whale logo on the right side too! I think this is a really versatile polo which is great because it can be worn from season to season easily. It’s also really lightweight which makes it perfect for living in the south! Our summers become insanely hot and lightweight is the way to go.
My skirt is another one of my FAVORITE things from the launch. You guys know I love a midi/maxi skirt more than anything else. The best part? IT IS STRIPED. Vineyard Vines basically went into my head to create this collection. I’m also very okay with that! The classic little whale logo is on the tie of this skirt as well. It also has pockets too!
Thanks for reading!
I hope you guys enjoyed my Vineyard Vines for Target haul! I know sometimes hauls mean the blogger didn’t purchase all the items, in this case I did! I’ve known this collaboration was happening for a few months and I made sure to save some money so I could splurge a little bit on this exclusive collection.
The only item I plan on returning (or re-selling on Poshmark) is the striped pullover! As As I mentioned above, it was a little snug. I prefer the Medium because it offers a lot more room than the Small! This collection was so amazing and I was thrilled that everything else fit me.
I also wanted to add that I ended up getting a Vineyard Vines men’s pullover for my boyfriend! His birthday was a week ago and he was obsessing over it like I was the rest of the collection. Yes, get you a boyfriend that freaks out about limited edition releases like you do.
I cannot wait to share more hauls with you. I actually have another recent one where I did an Old Navy Spring Haul! You can read that post (here).
