Hello everyone! Today on the blog I wanted to share 5 Tips to Get Your Work Wardrobe Ready for Spring! Now, I will be working from home for a couple weeks, but I’m honestly dreaming of what I’ll be able to wear once I head back into the office. Spring is my favorite season for fashion because it’s not too hot! I’m able to still wear sweaters, but not be so hot I’m sweating to death.
If you’re also ready for spring, then this post is one you should read. I’m going to share some office wardrobe basics that I love for the warmer months, as well as all of my advice on how to wear pastel clothing! This will be a deep dive on how to get ready for spring and revamp your wardrobe.
5 Tips to Get Your Work Wardrobe Ready for Spring
1. Purchase a Sleeveless Trench Vest
The first way that I’ve gotten my work wardrobe ready for spring is by adding the most chic sleeveless trench vest! I found this gorgeous trench vest at Target almost three years ago now. It’s been an item I keep bringing back year after year because it transitions perfectly from season to season.
I originally purchased this because I wanted a trench vest dress; however, I soon realized it matched my skin wayyy too closely for me to wear it by itself. That being said, I love also styling this over a shirt and adding a pair of block heels! It’s a great dress if you have a top or sweater underneath.
2. Grab a Pair of Nude Block Heels
I found my perfect pair of nude block heels at JCPenny of all places! They’re Liz Claiborne heels and I couldn’t love them any more than I already do. Finding the ideal nude block heel shoes is a quest that you have to be willing to go on. It took me a while to find some that I LOVED and I’m so happy I was finally able to.
Neutral heels are a must for any season, but for the spring I feel like they’re even more necessary! Spring has a lot of soft color palettes and pairing them with more neutral shoe options is the perfect way to balance any outfit! My favorite shades in particular are nude and blush.
3. Add Pastel Clothing to Your Closet
Adding pastel clothing to your closet is the perfect way to get your wardrobe (in general) ready for spring! For my look, I decided to feature this fun blush blouse. If you know me, you know I LOVE anything with ruffles. This Who What Wear collection top was no exception! I found it at Target and I knew I needed it in my closet.
A tip on styling pastel clothes is that it’s always a good idea to pair pastel items with darker/more neutral items. For example, I paired my pink blouse with black pants and a more neutral vest! The contrast of the colors work in unison and produce a perfectly styled ensemble.
Pastel clothes are one of my favorite ways to show through my clothing how ready I am for the warmer months! They’re perfect for Easter and Mother’s Day and help break up darker colors and patterns from the winter. You can find cute pastel clothes almost anywhere, but I love looking at Target, H&M, Abercombie, and SheIn!
4. Find the Perfect Pair of Black Knit Pants
I personally love being comfortable at work. I mean that’s where you’re spending 8+ hours of your day right?! I think a pair of classic, black knit pants (that fit) are a key staple for your work wardrobe regardless of the season! The fact that they’re knit also helps when it starts getting warmer because they’re more breathable.
These black cropped dress pants featured in my look were gifted from Betabrand and they couldn’t be more comfy! They are on the more pricey side though, but plenty of stores have ponte knit dress pants that are affordable and still very comfy. Regardless of where you get them, they’ll be sure to elevate your spring wardrobe!
5. Complete Each Look With a Sophisticated Bag
A sophisticated bag is the key to any work wear look! I personally think I should mix my work bag up more for my current looks. That said, having a neutral bag that can work with almost any look is the perfect way to create a variety of outfits that still work! It’s good to try and have at least a nice black bag and a solid cognac colored tote too.
Sophisticated handbags don’t have to be thousands of dollars! I think as long as you find a bag that is neutral, doesn’t have a gaudy logo, and has expensive looking hardware, you’ll be all set. The one in my photos above is from Aldo and is actually from their Disney collection! It’s the perfect size and looks very professional.
These are some work wardrobe essentials that are perfect for getting your closet ready for spring. I hope this outfit inspired you to play with pastel clothing, to add a pair of nude block heels to your closet, and to invest in some black knit dress pants! These are staples in my closet and they work so well for me during this time of the year.
